Water-Splashing Festival

1. It is a traditional festival for the Dai people in Yunnan Province.

泼水节是云南傣族东说念主民的传统节日。

2. It is held during the sixth month of the Dai calendar.

傣族东说念主民在傣族日期的六月份庆祝泼水节。

3. It lasts three or four days.

泼水节捏续三到四天。

4. During

the festival, the door of every house is decorated with multicolored pieces of

paper.

节日技术，傣族东说念主民用各式千般样貌的纸覆盖房门。

5. All the villagers are dressed in their holiday clothing.

通盘村民王人穿上他们的节日服装。

6. Sheep and cows are killed for feasting.

屠宰羊牛，准备盛宴。feast -a large or special meal for a lot of people

to celebrate something盛宴，大餐，宴集

7. A variety of entertainments are organized.

组织各式千般的文娱活动。

比如singing and dancing唱跳, fireworks displays烟花扮演，boat racing荡舟比赛，exhibiting Kongming lanterns展示孔明灯，parades and fairs游行和集聚等。

8. Water is a symbol of goodness and purity.

水是温顺与皎皎的标志。

9. During

the festival, men and women gather in public squares, armed with buckets of

water or carrying water guns to wet each other in wishes for good luck and a

happy new year.

节日技术，男男女女在广场集聚，全副武装上一桶桶水或佩戴水枪把彼此弄湿，祝福好运和自得的新年。wet这里是动词用，to make something wet把……弄湿。

10. At night,

music accompanied by drumbeats echoes throughout the villages.

晚上，音乐伴跟着饱读声在通盘这个词村子飘浮。

11. It is

a cultural bridge between Yunnan province and Southeast Asian countries that
